Identity

Creating the artwork for one of the main stages of Skate Total Urbe was a huge honor — especially for a 5-star event happening in Rio de Janeiro!

Thanks to everyone at Rio de Negócios for the opportunity, to my friend Bill Tassinari for inviting me to the team, and also to Rio Ramp Design for designing the structure and courses, and to Antoine and Luiza for the art direction and implementation at the event.

Truly proud of the result!

The illustrations were digitally created, all finalized in vector format.

Skate Park

The skate parks designed by Rio Ramp Design are every skater's dream. Park and street courses side by side — designed by skaters, for skaters. These guys know what they're doing!

To create a mural that matched the event’s identity without interfering with athletes’ performance, I had to work with a simpler and more focused visual language.

Big thanks to my painting crew who really delivered on this project. Production by Carol Lyra and support from Gabriel “Simo” and João “Sem Dente”, who were with me through sun and rain!

STU Gallery

In addition to creating the event identity and painting the courses, the project also included curating an exclusive exhibition for the event.

Four canvases were painted based on the event's theme. All were acrylic on canvas.

Four artworks were printed as fine art prints by Lithos, and four risographs were printed by Risotrip.

Vernissage

The exhibition opening featured a live performance by the band Beach Combers — lots of rock 'n roll! A dream come true!

Interactive Sculpture Painting

The audience was invited to interact with a sculpture placed inside the gallery — an interactive piece created especially for STU.

Poster Signing

There was also a live signing of event posters at the STU Gallery! It was amazing to be able to give something back to the audience.

Art in the Event

Being part of such a large-scale event and working with such a talented team was essential — the result speaks for itself. It was an incredible competition featuring some of the world’s best skateboarders, packed concerts with top Rio musicians, exhibitions, workshops, videos, talks, and more.

The OI STU Open goes beyond sport — it brings together people who are passionate about both skateboarding and art in one place.
