Owner of a strong identity, with a striking and spontaneous line. This is Bruno Carneiro Mosciaro, better known as Bruno Big, or just known as Big, from Rio de Janeiro, born in 1980 and who stands out for being a multidisciplinary artist. Passionate about art and the sensation from it provokes, over years of research he managed to develop his own language and style and, thanks to it, he secured recognition in the country and abroad.
His presence on the streets is remarkable. He likes the challenge and the response it offers. The search for the space to be painted, as well as the adaptation to different supports and the interaction of the people ho walk the streets while he creates, generates an energy that is fundamental for Big as an artist. At the same time, the academic experience has a strong participation in his routine. As graduated in Visual Communication course at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), he is also a specialist in the History of Brazilian Art, along his studies in the area of Brazilian engraving Arts, and, together with rofessor and plastic artist Thereza Miranda, he teaches and supports classes on Engraving Arts knowledge for more than ten years on the same university where he has been graduated.
Partnerships are also part of his trajectory and have led him to exhibit works in places like the United States, Lebanon, Spain, France and China, as well as murals and tourist spots in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as in producing materials for brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Red Bull, Gillette, among others. In fact, one of his most emblematic projects was the creation of a series of icons of Brazilian culture applied to the official t-shirt from the Brazilian national football team for the World Cup held in Brazil in 2014. It is important to mention the creation of the collection named “ Daring and Joy” created especially for Neymar Jr., in which he signed the athlete's boot and another series of products, as well as the additional the player's own invitation for painting the wall of his Social Institute. In August 2018, he held the exhibition “Memória” together with the artist Thereza Miranda, at the Bruno’s exhibition event in which he presented engravings of the classic techniques which he has presented, together the artist Thereza Miranda, woodcut, metal engraving and lithography works, as well as presenting a photogravure commemorating Thereza's 90th anniversary.
In his most recent exhibition, shown at Centro Cultural dos Correios in Rio de Janeiro at the end of last year, his works exhibited in the event entitled "Linha Livre", it has pointed to a new phase of paintings made by the artist with acrylic painting and watercolor – abstract or figurative –. Big's journey is extensive and extremely committed to what he believes, he lives in constant study and research and always circulates among the most diverse art media, making it the extension of his life. He prints in his lines the necessary fluidity, which translates his strong gestures and spontaneity, in addition to a flow of colors and energy that make his arts have a movement of their own, becoming the hallmark of his work.
